Büyük Sahra Derneği values the privacy of personal information shared through the buyuksahra.org website. This policy explains how information is collected, used and protected during website visits, volunteer applications, correspondence and donation transactions. Büyük Sahra Derneği is the data controller responsible for processing personal information within this scope. This general policy does not replace the process- and form-specific privacy notices that must be provided when personal data is collected. Separate privacy notices concerning volunteering, contact and donation processes are also provided in the relevant data-collection areas.
Personal information is data that can identify you directly or indirectly. The volunteer form on the Contact page collects your full name, email address, telephone number and the information entered in the notes field. The content and contact details of applications sent by email are also processed to follow up the application. For card donations, payment information is processed by the bank or payment service provider carrying out the transaction. The Association uses records such as the donation date, amount and transaction reference to manage donation and refund processes. Technical data transmitted when accessing the website, such as IP address and browser information, is processed to operate and secure the website.
Information shared through the volunteer form and correspondence is used to evaluate applications, answer questions and contact applicants. These processes and the processing of technical data for website security rely on the Association’s legitimate interest in carrying out these activities, provided that your fundamental rights are not prejudiced. Donation and refund records are processed to carry out the relevant transaction and fulfil legal record-keeping obligations. Where a different use requires consent, your information will not be processed for that purpose without obtaining your separate consent.
Information is accessible to authorised Association personnel who require it for their duties. Sharing with organisations providing hosting, technical support, email and payment services is limited to the information necessary to provide the relevant service. Information may also be shared in response to lawful requests from authorised public authorities and to fulfil notification obligations. Your personal information is not sold or disclosed to other visitors. Necessary data-protection safeguards are observed when sharing with service providers; where data is transferred abroad, the safeguards required for the transfer are implemented.
Access to personal information is restricted according to duties and authorisations. Appropriate technical and organisational measures are applied against unauthorised access, loss, alteration and disclosure. Nevertheless, electronic communication and data-storage methods cannot be guaranteed to be entirely risk-free. Information is retained for the period necessary for its processing purpose and for mandatory retention periods. When these periods expire, it is deleted, destroyed or anonymised so that it can no longer be associated with you. Backup copies are also subject to the relevant retention and deletion processes.
Cookies are small files stored in the browser by websites. Technical cookies necessary for the operation and security of the website may be used. Cookie preferences can be managed through browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may affect certain website functions. Google Analytics and Meta Pixel are not used on the website. However, beacon or Insights technology provided by Cloudflare is used to measure traffic, performance and security. In this context, technical data such as IP address, device and browser information and visit time may be processed by Cloudflare. Transfer and retention conditions are assessed according to the settings of the Cloudflare service used. Non-essential analytics or tracking tools will not be activated without obtaining the user’s prior preference where required by law.
You may learn whether your information is processed, for what purpose it is used and with whom it is shared; request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; and, where the applicable conditions are met, request its deletion or destruction. You may also request that corrections and deletions be notified to parties with whom the information has been shared. You have the right to object to adverse outcomes arising solely from automated analysis, seek compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing and lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. You may withdraw consent for processing based on consent. Requests under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 may be submitted in writing to the postal address below; from a registered electronic mail (KEP) address to the Association’s KEP address; using a secure electronic signature or mobile signature; or from an email address previously provided by the applicant to the Association and registered in the Association’s system. Ordinary email may be used as an application method only where this final condition is satisfied. Additional information may be requested where necessary to verify the applicant. Requests are answered as soon as possible and within no more than 30 days. Information subject to a mandatory retention obligation will not be deleted while that obligation continues.
The website does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. Where information concerning a child is reported by a parent or legal representative, or identified by the Association, information that is not legally required to be retained is deleted.
When you follow a link from this website to another website, the privacy practices of that website apply. This policy does not cover the information-collection and use practices of other websites.
Changes to this Privacy Policy are published on this page together with the date of the update. If the purpose for using information or the scope of sharing changes, information will be provided before the new processing begins and separate consent will be obtained where required.
